What is Vedic astrology?
Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is the traditional astrology of India. It uses the sidereal zodiac, emphasises the Moon sign (Rashi) and nakshatra, and adds unique tools like the Vimshottari dasha timeline and doshas.
How is Vedic astrology different from Western?
Western astrology is tropical and Sun-focused; Vedic is sidereal (star-fixed, ~24° apart) and Moon-focused. Because of the difference, your Vedic sign is often one back from your Western Sun sign.
What is a dasha?
